London based singer, songwriter, poet and producer Aeris Roves treated us to another single in December following on from ‘Cairo’ which marked his first release in two years. ‘Long Way Down’ is a gentle, meandering track that captures the moment we try to salvage a break in a relationship, turning a new leaf with this uplifting retrospective approach.

Aeris’ mesmerising delivery serves as the perfect accompaniment to the intricate and  polished production from long term collaborator and friend Two Inch Punch. Aeris’ soul and modern R&B influences can be heard on this record, while the emotive lyrics shine light on his perceptive song writing. “It started life as a very rough idea that we couldn’t quite finish and went through numerous reiterations,” Shares the singer speaking on the single. “It looks at the idea of a breakdown in communication during a relationship and the process of realigning with a partner. It likens this feeling of rediscovery to the idea of the freefall.”

Co-signed by the likes of Billie Eilish, Aeris used lockdown to spend time in the studio working on a new body of work which we can look forward to hearing more of this year.
