London’s Rasharn Powell unveils his evocative first single of 2021, ‘Blunder’ and announces debut project, ‘Dusk & Dawn’.

Thoughtfully mixing the old with the new, we can’t get enough of rising-star Rasharn’s slick and soulful hip-hop and R&B blend that splashes vintage sounds amongst more digitally-driven instrumentals. With funky and layered production from the talented Gianluca Buccellati (Arlo Parks, Tei Shei), ‘Blunder’ sees Rasharn bearing his vulnerabilities as he reflects on a relationship breakdown in a deeply moving, beautifully smooth yet sombre tone. The poignant single’s music-video, which was directed by The Reids (Kam-Bu), for the most part tracks Rasharn as he performs alone to the camera, solitary in his apartment. However, we also get a glimpse into the struggles shared between Rasharn and his partner, where shots of key moments of frustration between the pair indicate that their romance is starting to unravel, or that perhaps it’s already over.

Reflecting on the release, Rasharn reveals, “I just wanted to be real about my previous experiences with heartbreak. I feel sometimes, we aren’t honest with ourselves, especially when things are self-inflicted. Laying my feelings bare in such a way, gives me clarity on what was and the person I am beyond it.”
