Singer-songwriter and producer Hamond impresses with his first single of 2020, entitled ‘Outside’. The track boasts sophisticated, richly textured electronic production and beckons an exciting year for the emerging artist.
Living in Texas and growing up in a creatively minded family, the 23-year-old multi-instrumentalist cut his teeth producing for artists in his childhood region of Southwest Houston. More recently, he has created and uploaded his own music to Soundcloud and released his debut single, ‘Past Lives’, in March last year. In ‘Outside’, pulsating electronic effects meld with Hamond’s layered up, computerised vocals, lending this track a distinctly futuristic, almost cosmic feel. It’s no wonder then, that the song is about the starry-eyed anticipation and nervous excitement that floods your veins, as you wait to meet someone who you’ve recently paired up with. In Hamond’s words, “for that moment/night, nothing else matters.”
