Beyoncé, Shatta Wale, Major Lazer – ALREADY [Video]

On the release of The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack back in July 2019, there was absolutely no denying that ‘ALREADY’ by Beyoncé, Shatta Wale and Major Lazer was one of the hottest track’s on the record. Fast forward to present times and as part of Beyoncé’s new visual album Black Is King, ‘ALREADY’ resurfaces with an incredibly vibrant music video, paying a beautiful homage to African and Black culture.

Visually, ‘ALREADY’ is a clear celebration of black excellence across a variety of creative forms. From the African tribal aesthetics and fashion, to the energy portrayed in both performance and dance - the video impressively captures the passion and pride of Black culture and it’s people, who have gone through hardship, yet continue to carry on and shine. It couldn’t be more timely for such an incredibly, impactful visual.

Released just a few hours before the visual reveal of ‘ALREADY’, Beyoncé’s Black Is King became available via Disney + on Friday 31 July 2020. The visual album reimagines the lessons of The Lion King, for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns. The voyages of Black families throughout time, are honoured in a tale about a young kings transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self identity.
