South East London rapper Deema returns with his latest single ‘Rat Race,’ following his double A-side single ‘Maddie & Blame’ with Kish, released earlier this year.
Once again Deema highly impresses with his wordplay and flow, speaking on the competitive struggles of wealth and power, as the title ‘Rat Race’ very much suggests. With intricate lyricism laced over lo-fi, genre blending alternative hip-hop beats - Deema’s releases stand out in high regard, easily making him one of the most talented emerging British rappers right now. He’s mastered the balance of cool and conscious, making his music both exciting and informative.
The new single comes with the announcement of Deema’s highly anticipated debut EP Chew Your Food, which is due for release on 29 June 2020. The entire EP has been produced by Dom Valentino, fellow affiliate of Lewisham grime collective The Square. With the tracks that have dropped to date, this is definitely a project we are eager to hear. Roll on the end of June!
