Mysie - fade [Video]

Ahead of the release of her forthcoming EP joyride, due to be released on May 13, South-East London’s Mysie has dropped another new track. ‘fade’ is the latest number to shine a light on Mysie’s introspective lyricism and musical dexterity as we see a sense of vulnerability and trepidation. Whilst the EP title track single ‘joyride’, set the tone for a generally upbeat sound, ‘fade’ holds a sense of emotional cataclysm.

Mysie is said to have written ‘fade’ in a complete stream of consciousness by dissecting exactly how she felt. The stripped back nature emphasises this process, with Mysie’s touching vocals holding all attention. Speaking on the track’s theme Mysie said:

I’m questioning the meaning of love. ‘fade’ is about the beginning of the end of my relationship and I was really in the thick of it at the time.”

The intimate, soulful production leaves listeners immersed in the words and melancholic quality. The visual features Mysie as she sings into and off camera, mirroring the deeply personal feel of the track itself.
