Jozem - Goderich [Video]

Toronto-based artist Jozem opens up about his struggles during a long creative block on his soothing introspective single ‘Goderich’. Taking time to enjoy his surroundings in Ontario, Jozem was inspired by the peaceful serenity of Goderich, which is reflected in the single’s calming Lo-Fi richness.

It was in these moments that Jozem found harmony with his creative process and was able to let go of any worries that had halted his flow. He added that, “we are so often conditioned that we constantly have to be producing, that time is of the essence, that as artists our success is tied to our youth/youthfulness, so we need to be producing as much while we can – but I have been learning not to take heed of those voices and to truly listen to myself.”

Jozem’s eclectic taste and influences paired with his confidence to experiment with different sounds elevate his music, with his impassioned vocals and relatable lyrics creating a deeper connection. In the accompanying video for ‘Goderich’ we see the location that inspired the track, with wintery scenes and peaceful waters. Jozem’s sophomore project ‘it came to be in a dream’ is due for release soon, but this single provides a further glimpse into his world.
