Alewya - Spirit_X [Video]

Brandishing sci-fi energy and hint of Afrofuturism in the visuals for the invigorating new single, ‘Spirit_X’ is London’s Alewya. The track draws upon her liking for drum and bass rhythms, proving once again that she succeeds as an artist blessed with the gift of being able to contort her sound to pull off a plethora of genres.

‘Spirit_X’ has a compelling feel to it, rattled by the fast-paced rhythms and Alewya’s tantalising vocals which resonate amongst feelings of adrenaline and otherworldliness. The accompanying video mirrors the transcendent spiritual vibe that she captured on the track, with scenes showing people lost in the feel of the music and dance. Directed by Simon Lane and Alewya herself, the visuals are equally gripping and shine light on her creative audaciousness.

Speaking of ‘Spirit_X’, Alewya said, “I know that the rave can be utilized as a ritual and ceremony to transform, uplift and energize a person. I love giving visceral experiences. I love drum and bass for that specific reason. ‘Spirit_X’ encompasses all of the above in my way.”
