Grungy electro-pop act CLOVES exposes her struggle with social anxiety in dark new single ‘Sicko’, a track produced by Detonate and Hudson Mohawke.

Following her 2020 singles ‘Dead’ and ‘Gone’, the up-and-coming London based Aussie artist is back to offer us another edgy track from her forthcoming sophomore album. The upcoming record which samples Suzanne Vega’s 1980’s single ‘Toms Diner’, will explore a dystopian world created in CLOVES’ own mind as it battles anxiety, depression and obsessive overthinking, each tune a vignette that expresses the complexity of struggling with the many layers of mental health.

Speaking on the release, CLOVES explains, “Sicko is my best way of painting the tunnel vision, panic scramble of social anxiety. It’s like a living, breathing second personality in your brain. One which makes you question everything you do and say in social situations, worried that others don’t like you for it. It's exhausting, not only keeping you from enjoying the present but also fucks with your relationships.”
