Jordan Stephens - Star [Video]

Jordan Stephens has released his latest single, ‘Star’, along with a music video for the track, directed by Yeti Studios. With a muffled bass line and stirring lyrics, it’s the latest in a series of exciting releases from the former Rizzle Kicks member. The music video for ‘Star’ sees Stephens sat on a film/tv set, designed to look like a kitchen, and ends with the singer tearing up.

Reflective of the emotion behind the track, Stephens explains:

"Star is a song about our desire to be seen. Our need to find love in whatever space we can, even if that's infamy. It's about our desire to fight external perceptions we can't control. The bass line from New Machine does a lot of speaking too. It might not even be that deep. It's just a little trip. Depends how you feel."

Since Stephens and Harley Alexander (the duo behind the witty Brighton hip hop group Rizzle Kicks) parted ways, they have embarked on a variety of solo projects under different monikers. Stephens’ current music is an impressive solo-return, with previously released singles ‘Son Of A Gun’ and ‘Wicked’ adding to his cultivation of a new sound which sees him combine poetry and spoken word with introspective melodies.
