Ending the year by creating a moment of reflection, Texas born singer-songwriter reggie (real name Reginald Helms) blends his own wistful falsetto with sighing backing vocals on a song that plays like a daydream, channeling the pain of dark moments from his past to create a sombre yet peaceful neo-soul tune. Growing up within the church community, reggie’s faith is what first spurred him to write music. But while his upbringing inspired his passion for songwriting, sadly his life choices weren’t accepted by his family which forced reggie to leave Houston to start anew. Now living in LA, reggie has two singles out that show just what he’s capable of, melding classic lo-fi sonics with soulful vocals to create a lush, highly listenable sound. 2021 may just be reggie’s year.
