Rachel Chinouriri - Give Me A Reason [Video]

21-year-old artist Rachel Chinouriri’s voice soars and sighs on contemplative love song, ‘Give Me A Reason’.

The burgeoning South London artist has already turned a lot of heads with her delicate tunes, supporting huge names including Celeste, Sam Fender and Lianne La Havas. ‘Give Me A Reason’ has arrived following Rachel’s 2019 EP ‘Mama’s Boy’ and like many of Chinouriri’s songs, sets soft yet rich instrumental textures against her expressive, languorous vocals to create a smooth, beguiling listening experience. Written by Rachel and produced by previous collaborator Hylnu alongside Oli Bayston (Kelly Lee Owens, Loyle Carner, Petite Noir) and Tom Henry, ‘Give Me A Reason’ boasts contemplative lyrics which consider the questions and uncertainty that accompany even the most loving of relationships.

Speaking on the track Chinouriri says, “‘Give Me A Reason’ is about love and whether it’s enough to hold together a relationship. Can you leave someone you love without them giving you a reason?” On the video she adds, “For the video Rob Akin directed, I wanted to show my version of this relationship in an honest form and contrast it with a dream world of glamour and ambition.”
