There’s a very cool music collective from New York City and they go by the name MICHELLE. Made up of singers Jamee Lockard, Layla Ku, Sofia D’Angelo and Emma Lee along with Julian Kaufman and Charlie Kilgore, holding down the production and arrangements of the bands beautiful blend of R&B, 80s synth pop, jazz and indie musical sound.

The group recorded a live performance video for their track ‘The Bottom,’ taken from their self-produced debut EP ‘HEATWAVE.’ Described as a sweet-drenched celebration of their city, vocalist and lyricist Emma Lee, shares more depth on the inspiration behind the track, “the song is an ode to the East river. Whispering worries to my mom by the river, mustering up the courage to dive in without fear - diving into what scares me, or into this loyal body of water.”

‘HEATWAVE’ which was originally released in 2018, is re-introduced to the music industry, as MICHELLE embark on their new music journey in partnership with Transgressive Records here in the UK and Canvasback Music / Atlantic Records throughout the rest of the world.

Indie music is very much still alive and we’re very excited to hear what more, collective MICHELLE have to offer. Check out the live performance for ‘The Bottom’ below and be sure to give ‘HEATWAVE’ a listen via Spotify.
