Moses Sumney - Cut Me [Video]

Moses Sumney_DSTNGR

Asheville, North Carolina based singer-songwriter Moses Sumney delivers an intriguing visual for his single ‘Cut Me,’ a true art piece which some may find a little bizarre however, in the most beautiful kind of way.

Directed and written by Sumney himself, the five minute film carries a contemporary performance of dance and expression throughout. Thoroughly impressed by the reveal of the opening credits across a vehicle radio display, the camera then pans onto Sumney who is lying in the back of an ambulance wearing an oxygen mask, performing intensely to camera. Pretty odd right? Well it gets stranger! As the camera pans up we are met with two other hospital patients playing the trombone, exquisitely in sync with the soundtrack.

Sumney along with his co-star dancers, Emara Neymour-Jackson and Malachi Middleton deliver an artistic and stellar performance for this visual. The closing shot is truly epic but you’ll just have to press play and watch the video, to see why it’s such a powerful ending.

‘Cut Me’ is taken from Moses Sumney’s two part album ‘græ,’ of which part 1 was released on February 21 2020 and part 2 is due for release next month. You can stream græ: Part 1 on Spotify now.
