Manchester R&B artist and fashion student Akemi Fox displays her adept storytelling and sultry vocals on her ambient and smooth EP ‘Colour You In’ featuring latest single ‘Your Love’.
Reminiscent of the glistening sounds of nineties and noughties R&B, Akemi Fox’s latest project is a blissful listen. Filled with yearning, surrounded in misty production and peppered with hypnotic beats, Fox lulls us into a late afternoon daze, painting daydreams of romance and seduction for us to sleepily sink into. Recorded over lockdown, the 5 track project sees Fox explore love as inspired by her experiences and those of her friends. The EP also features her new single, ‘Your Love’, a track emblematic of the project’s plush and languorous ambience, which explores the difficulty of overcoming emotional barriers in order to embrace the positives of love.
Reflecting on her latest hit, Akemi says, "I wanted to express how quickly and confusing it is when you fall in love with someone. I try to capture that feeling with this song. I want to get the listeners in their feelings and reminiscing on love."
