Kyra - Cause & Cure [Video]
There are so many music acts right now however, only a few hit hard with real impact. West London based singer-songwriter Kyra is most definitely something special. Her voice is out of this world and if you don’t believe me, check out her refix of Rosie Gaines ‘Closer Than Close’ and listen for yourself. I literally had this song on repeat for hours, it’s that good!
Following up with an original, Kyra delivers to us ‘Cause & Cure,’ the new release from her forthcoming EP entitled ‘Xanadu.’ Based on the 1980 musical fantasy film of the same name, which showcases the Greek mythology of the Nine Muses of Olympus - one of the muses travel’s to earth to inspire a human however, violates the rules of the Gods and ends up falling in love. With such an intriguing concept, I’m overly excited to hear this body of work and I’m pretty certain we will not be disappointed.
Speaking on the release, Kyra shared that, “‘Cause and Cure’ depicts an intense relationship, both loving and abusive. Themes of duality of self, good and bad, love and lust.” Definitely something a lot of lovers will be able to relate to and we all need those songs, that can really help us to feel, followed by healing. The sultry song is matched with serene visuals, captured through editorial style shots and contemporary dance movement shot on a beach. Simple but somewhat magical and I’m loving the styling, depicting an image of a modern day goddess.
